Scrawlcut Open the editor

Credits

Scrawlcut is drawn, cut and exported with other people’s generous work. Thank you to everyone below.

Each one comes under its own licence. The full text of every licence, for every package in the site, is in licences.txt.

Fonts

The handwriting fonts for titles come with the page, so they work offline. Their licences let you use them in what you make, commercially too.

  • Caveat: The Caveat Project Authors. SIL Open Font License 1.1.
  • Caveat Brush: Google. SIL Open Font License 1.1.
  • Gaegu: The Gaegu Project Authors. SIL Open Font License 1.1.
  • Gochi Hand: HT Fonts. SIL Open Font License 1.1, with “Gochi” and “Gochi Hand” as Reserved Font Names.
  • Kalam: Indian Type Foundry. SIL Open Font License 1.1.
  • Mansalva: The Mansalva Project Authors. SIL Open Font License 1.1.
  • Nanum Pen Script: NHN Corporation, designed by Sandoll Communications. SIL Open Font License 1.1.
  • Pacifico: The Pacifico Project Authors. SIL Open Font License 1.1.
  • Patrick Hand: Patrick Wagesreiter. SIL Open Font License 1.1.
  • Permanent Marker: Font Diner. Apache License 2.0.
  • Short Stack: Sorkin Type, with “Short Stack” and “Short Stack One” as Reserved Font Names. SIL Open Font License 1.1.

They’re packaged by Fontsource.

Sounds

The twelve sound effects in the Audio tab are recordings from BigSoundBank, which gives them to the public domain under CC0.

Code in the editor

  • React: Meta Platforms and contributors. MIT License.
  • Supabase client libraries, for signing in and plans: Supabase. MIT License.
  • Mediabunny, which reads and writes the video and sound files: Vanilagy. Mozilla Public License 2.0. Scrawlcut uses it unchanged, and its source code is at github.com/Vanilagy/mediabunny.

And the smaller packages they use, each listed in licences.txt.

Downloaded when you use Hear and match

Hear and match doesn’t come with the page. The first time you use it, your browser downloads:

  • Transformers.js: Hugging Face. Apache License 2.0. It runs the model with ONNX Runtime Web (Microsoft, MIT License).
  • Whisper speech models: OpenAI. MIT License. Converted for the browser by the ONNX Community on Hugging Face.

Made for Scrawlcut

The renderer and its line boil, the editor, the doodles, background pages and title styles, the three starter templates with their songs, the sample reels and the how-to video are made by @h.isthere. The terms say how you can use them.
